Hello there This is my opinion on Dear My Living Dead and its totally alright to not like it. This also has spoilers so Id recommend reading the chapter to understand the review. //TW + CW: death mentions + spoilers This is a much more simpler review but through its premise Dear my Living Dead is a overall decent story to read through. Ive been impressed with the ending in a iffy way to be honest but in the end I wasnt that disappointed or to the point where it put much of a bad taste in my mouth. DMLD is the foundation and story before TBHK ToiletBound Hanako Kun. To summarize DMLD is a story between Lily and Cult and how they fight against these crude creatures called Mothers and the first encounter we see was to protect a family which the mother and father look awfully similar to Aoi and Akane. But when Cult kills a mother in front of them the church suspects the worse of the family and executes the mother and father while keeping the child alone to fend for themselves. Lily and Cult then move around to there next missions and while on a rooftop Lily confesses about how she doesnt really love her job of executing and working for the church anymore and that she wants to run away from it. This then leaves us seeing Cults past and how he had a manipulative and tragic childhood. This then continues where Cult faces this huge plant like mother and in the spur where Cult is about to die Lily comes in and helps defeat it. The wound in Cults heart is so fatal though and drives Lily to gears because she faces the fact that she cant live in a world without him. But in the most confusing moment is that Cult kills Lily so that they can live in etenirty together and forever. And so thats a lot to take in Ive always thought the ending was messed up and made me to hate Cult in some ways. I believe the childhood trauma he faced from his manipulative mother mightve drove him to thinking it was justifiable to killing Lily and believing this fate. Maybe he was even scared of Lily leaving as she said earlier. Now for Lily I think she is a overall likeable charecter. Her sympathy in events such as the execution and rooftop scene really show how much she really cares about others which is pretty sweet And for the ending I felt it was very heartbreaking especially for Lily to feel this betrayed from the person she trusted most being Cult. Speaking of the ending again it was the only part that really ticked me off and I think its because of my bias about happy endings and such. Ive come to terms now though that this is a tragic story with a tragic ending and charecters and events and places and more. Im sorry if there isnt much to say since this is really only one chapter here. Opinions will obviously differ from this manga but overall I enjoyed the theme of despair here and wasnt so dissatisfied with the tragic charecters and story. 220https://64.media.tumblr.com/759004ae29989883508bad6848fb9fd6/0cad555cca07d85c89/s1280x1920/dc69ac3ae3b8964f2d09337dfba2dc79b49034f7.png
