Adorable incredible read. The art style is cute and the storyline is pure gold. It may not be everyones favorite but if youre into yuri then this is a good read for you. Also this is my first manga review so Ill probably mess up a little bit. I apologize in advance.
In brief the manga is about a very lonely girl who cant seem to make friends. Depressed and heartsick she returns to her dorm room and bursts into tears. She starts rummaging through her belongings and finds a spellbook. Convinced that black magic is the only solution to her melancholy she casts a spell. By using black magic a unicorn is brought out from the depths of the underworld to stay by the side of the lonely girl in hopes of curing her loneliness.
The themes that I enjoyed the most in this manga is the cute art style charming storyline and the impact this manga had on me as an individual. In contrast the only aspect that I disliked about this manga is the lack of an intricate plot.
The art style of this manga is brilliant. Fujimatsu does an excellent job illustrating the characters and nails the composition for almost every observed trope in the manga. Props to Fujimatsu in this category.
The storyline while lacking in some areas is highly amusing and cute. Where the storyline lacks the art style makes up the loss. The unique storyline differs from most mangas in the yuri genre. It simultaneously makes jokes and retains a basic storyline. In contrast a manga like Namoris Yuru Yuri is a manga that relentlessly makes jokes and has almost no storyline. I would very much consider this manga written for the yuri demographic more than anything.
In addition to the previous aspects I focused on I also want to reflect on the effect this manga had on me briefly. When I started reading this manga I never really understood how or why some people acted the way they do. In particular I had a hard time understanding desperate individuals much like the protagonist in this manga. While reading this manga I saw a rare glimpse of what troubled individuals experience in the real world. It sounds quite clich of me to say but I believe that there was some insight to be seen.
In contrast the only thing that I seemed to dislike about reading this manga was the lack of an intricate plot. To clarify it seemed as if more should have happened as well as a severe lack of character development for the number of chapters released. I think that Fujimatsu could improve on this aspect a little more.
In conclusion this manga is an excellent read especially if you are a connoisseur of yuri manga. Its incredibly charming and cute and makes for a heartwarming story.
Thank you for reading I appreciate it.
