In his early career he often worked on several outsourced episodes for Sunrise productions as a key animator and animation director. He debuted as a character designer in 1992 on Dragon Slayerhttps://anilist.co/anime/3025/DragonSlayer/. An animated adaptation of the 1989 video game Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes by Nihon Falcom. Since then he became very active as a character designer. Mostly notably for Sunrise productions such as Infinite Ryviushttps://anilist.co/anime/593/InfiniteRyvius/ sCRYedhttps://anilist.co/anime/168/sCRYed/ and Gundam SEEDhttps://anilist.co/anime/93/MobileSuitGundamSeed/ the latter which gained him widespread recognition.
