Karel Svoboda

Czech composer of film and television soundtracks and popular music. Although he studied to become a dentist at a university in Prague he would ultimately quit university and join the rock band Mefisto with which he collaborated as a pianist in the 50s and 60s. Hes deemed to be one of the most successful and iconic Czech composers of popular music having worked for numerous Czech singers such as Karel Gott and writing scores for about 900 national and international films and TV shows some of them being childrens anime. On January 28th 2007 he would tragically take his own life most likely due to numerous serious health issues he was dealing with. He is buried at the cemetery near St. Georges Church in Aldan.
