Toshifumi Takizawa

Takizawa Toshifumi (滝沢敏文) was a Japanese director, episode director and storyboard artist.

After he graduated Tokyo Zokei University, he got to work at Tokyo Animation Film, where he worked as part of a photography team. In later years he started working for Shin-Ei Douga, where he was a production assistant. After he started working at Nippon Sunrise, he became a director, giving his debut in 1985 with the Dirty Pair TV series. He continued working as a director afterwards, but as a freelancer instead.

He was a line director on the Ideon Be Invoked film, he was also involved in the Votoms series and has directed Gonzo's TV adaption of Kurosawa's epic Samurai 7 film, which he did in 2004.

Toshifumi passed away on June 22, 2015 from esophageal cancer. He was 61 years old when he died, and up until that point he would still be doing his ordinary activities like driving his car and walking his dog.
