Yuji Hosoi

During his student days he joined the doujin group Mutant Pro sponsored by Makoto Kanno and created the doujinshi Bokuju Sandoku. He made his debut as a manga artist in 1968 via COM magazine published by Mushi Production. After graduating from high school he became an assistant to Jouji Enamihttps://anilist.co/staff/250694/JoujiEnami in 1969. In 1971 he joined Shotarou Ishinomorihttps://anilist.co/staff/97478/ShoutarouIshinomoris Ishimori Productions and became an animation staff member. In 1972 with the launch of Kodansha s magazine Otomodachi he was in charge of serializing the manga version of Kamen Rider. Since then he has mainly written tokusatsuderived works manga adaptations of TV animation and childrens manga. In 2004 he was hired as a lecturer at Digital Arts Tokyo Department of Illustration and Manga. In 2009 he worked as a parttime lecturer at Takarazuka University. In April of 2011 he became a parttime lecturer in the Department of Manga Faculty of Art Kyoto University of Art and Design associate professor in April 2013 professor in April 2014 and head of the department in April 2016.
