Kaiu Shirai

白井 カイウ

Kaiu Shirai (白井カイウ) (a pseudonym) is a manga writer.

After graduating from university, Shirai worked in a company.

Shirai has published two one-shot books including "Poppy's Wish" ("Poppy no Negai", 2016) with the illustrator Posuka Demizu.

Since 2016, Shirai has been collaborating with Posuka Demizu on the series "The Promised Neverland" ("Yakusoku no Neverland"), a manga published in the Weekly Shonen Jump.
The series sold more than 3 million copies in Japan in its first seven volumes and won the 63rd Shogakukan Prize in the Shōnen category. It was adapted as an anime in 2019.

The bookstore "L'Ange Bleu" in Périgny, awarded to the Volume 1 of "The Promised Neverland" the 2019 Mangawa Prize in the Shōnen category. The Volume 7 is the winner of the 2019 Babelio Manga Prize.

Until now, Shirai's face still hasn't been revealed.
