Kaiu Shirai

Kaiu Shirai a pseudonym is a manga writer. After graduating from university Shirai worked in a company. Shirai has published two oneshot books including Poppys Wish Poppy no Negai 2016 with the illustrator Posuka Demizu. Since 2016 Shirai has been collaborating with Posuka Demizu on the series The Promised Neverland Yakusoku no Neverland a manga published in the Weekly Shonen Jump. The series sold more than 3 million copies in Japan in its first seven volumes and won the 63rd Shogakukan Prize in the Shnen category. It was adapted as an anime in 2019. The bookstore LAnge Bleu in Prigny awarded to the Volume 1 of The Promised Neverland the 2019 Mangawa Prize in the Shnen category. The Volume 7 is the winner of the 2019 Babelio Manga Prize.
