He worked as a character designer alongside Hideo Minaba for Final Fantasy IX. He is the main character designer for both the Crystal Chronicles and Chocobo spinoff series. Itahana has directed two games at Square Enix. The first is Code Age Commanders an Action RPG for the PlayStation 2 that was released in 2005.
