Cowboy Bebop The reigning king of anime in all regards and absolute masterpiece by Mr. Watanabe especially the music by Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts 2. Trigun Perhaps lesser known than the aforementioned but equal in quality Triguns atmosphere characters music and storytelling are all on point 5. Berserk In case you run out of Evangelion to depress you... but seriously dont let the ageing animation and manga fanatics put you off trying this one its utterly heartwrenching Bonus Film: Seriously recommend you give JinRoh: The Wolf Brigade a watch at some point it is perhaps the best animated thing of all time especially for not using digital technology of any kind. On top of that it tells an excellent story with its fair share of twists acted out by more than believable characters. Not one to brighten your day though... Actually for that matter anything with Mamoru Oshiis name on it is worth checking out the guys a genius.
