Then comes the story and then the characters and then the animation. The ranking doesnt exactly matter to be honest its just there for the sake of it. Animation also matters a lot but not as much as the music. That band scene from Haruhi Suzumiya is still engrained in my head after all these years and Fate/Zero looking the way it did in 2011 deserves the credit it gets. Ive chosen a few of my favorite characters primarily based on their execution in their respective Visual Novels. I find their depth and personalities much better explained in the original Visual Novels than in their adaptationsI realize its unfair comparing visual novel characters to anime characters but its also unfair for the characters portrayed poorly in the anime adaptation with Takumi being a key example. Haruno was also a really interesting character in the anime but the visual novel was what made me favorite her.
