Fate/Monogatari/Toaru Watch Order Guide - Approved Kuma Edition

It seems like there is a thread asking for the Fate Series order or Monogatari Series order every week kuma. Its uncommon for Toaru to be here but I will add it anyway. I wont lie I get just a little bit annoyed when I see a thread asking for this. If anyone asks for a watch order just send them this thread kuma. Without further ado serious kuma mode... ACTIVATE Serious kuma mode = no kuma until the end kuma If I missed something please let me know Admittedly this is the most confusing watch order out of all of the above. With many Fate/ entries I dont blame people for not knowing. However there is a very simple answer. Time for a little history class The Fate series started out as Fate/stay night a visual novel in 2004. Fate/stay night consisted of the Fate route Unlimited Blade Works and Heavens Feel Route in that order. Fate/Zero did not come first but I know that some people want to do chronological order so I will add that later I do not recommend this order. The Fate/stay night visual novel came out first and this is just following the routes. Where is Fate route? Fate route was made in Studio DEENs Fate/Stay Night adaptation in 2006. It is generally regarded as something to avoid on ones first watch. Merging the three routes didnt end up so good 00 Why cant I start with Zero first? Well nobody is stopping you. Its just that the stay night saga was created BEFORE Fate/Zero It would make sense to start with the stay night saga since there was no other option back then. It is also the order that the creator intended Speaking of which Fate/Zero spoils a plot twist for Heavens Feel Dont tell the other Fate fans but I dont think its too much... but that doesnt mean you should disobey the creators original order Well nothing is prohibiting you from doing that. Remember that this order is NOT RECOMMENDED Im only putting this here for those hardheaded people Wait wait wait. What is this Fate/Zero Einzbern thingy? Why should I watch that? Not many people bring this Special up when it comes to the Fate series. However they do bring up the fact that starting with Zero drops you into the stories of the Grail War without prior knowledge. This is where the Einzbern Special comes into play. Im sure you can find it on YouTube or something. Essentially the Einzbern Special gives you knowledge in the background and concept of the Grail War in a fun and lighthearted way. This way you arent overwhelmed on starting with Zero. Of course I dont encourage it but I know that someone is going to break the rules. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you only watch Episode One of this. Watching further will spoil the series for you. Dont say I didnt warn you Uh oh There goes the consistency of wallpaper choices... Anyways Monogataris order is fairly simple. Monogatari is split into three seasons: First Season Second Season and Final Season. Its source material are light novels and the light novels contain Monster Season and Off Season. As of now they have not gotten an anime adaptation. I rarely see Toaru watch order threads but I know that somebody is wondering. Do I recommend Chronological Order? Well I actually recommend both Broadcast Order and the Railgun First order. Broadcast Order: Positives: Simple easy and was the only way for animeonly Toaru fans to watch it at the time. Negatives: Lost tension/mystery. Railgun First/Chronological Order: Positives: Mystery is heavily amplified Railgun Start better plot flow. Negatives: Lost simplicity jumping series midseason. So that leaves you with the question: Which one should I start with? Thats up to your personal preference but many people choose the Railgun First order. Although Index is the main parent series people still choose the Railgun spinoff First order. However its still a viable option. The real question is: Do you like simplicity or plot execution/flow? If you ask me I might have taken the latter. Or you know check one out and revisit the series with another order considering I like the series. Wait Yuna... I thought you said that Chronological order isnt always the best. I did say that but Chronological order isnt always the best. Toaru anime is handled weirdly so Id say to go ahead with what makes you comfortable. As I said previously just ask yourself that question and use that order.
