Konaide Kou no Tori

The protagonists, Eri Mikoshiba (age 30) and Masayuki Mikoshiba (age 30), have been married for five years without children. Eri has stayed busy as a full-time housewife since quitting her job. One day, her husband asks her if she wants to have a baby. Unable to give an immediate answer, she later finds a divorce decree in her husband's bag.

The long-awaited volume depicts the "ties" that bind women in their daily lives, and questions whether women who do not bear children are worthless.
