SPOILERS BEWARE Saying this movie is a glorified recap would be an overstatement but saying its an original idea would also be an overstatement since the movie has new scenes but it mixes those around recapping the anime its safe to say that half the movie is essentially a recap of the most important parts from the anime and well of course they make you watch the ending of the final episode once more but the way they incorporate new scenes along with the flashbacks is done really well and gives it a new feel. 900https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/960184868577357904/unknown.png The original parts of the movie are those which showcase more scenes from their childhood granted its not much but we clearly see the point at which Menma probably became interested in Jinta and later even fell in love. Now letters Ive already learned pack an incredible punch if done right just look at Violet Evergarden and Orange to name two whos impact is unfathomable and they achieve this incredible emotion through sheer letters. The effect in this movie is nowhere near as grand but they serve their purpose very well. Well I say that but it doesnt stop me from being overwhelmed with emotion when I see the final hide and seek game played by the group that scene is already engraved very well in my mind as one of the most memorable moments I have ever seen in anime. It may feel as I rewatch this scene so many times to torture myself but thats not the case at all as I genuinely enjoy watching it every single time. The 11th episode of Anohana is easily in my top five favorite and memorable episode in all of anime. Less on the anime and more on the actual movie it takes place during the summer a year following the events of the anime so the gang is essentially reminiscing about their lost friend which is where the recap scenes are shown but the way they are portrayed throughout the movie are done very effectively and the new scenes are just heartwarming to see. Its not much of a sequel but its more Anohana which is something I absolutely MUST see since its a series I very much love and cherish. Its going to be a series I cherish for as long as I live since essentially I would say its a rare kind of show that can be lifechanging for some depending on their own life experiences since the reality it portrays is very real and cruel yet it gets the message across strongly. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/960185776774201344/unknown.png Normally tearjerkers are meant to provide realism and want you to sympathise and almost experience what the characters are going through which is why they easily became one of my top genres to watch. I love watching realistic stories that portray not only the ups of life but also the brutally of what the world can be like if you are unfortunate cause of your circumstances. In Anohana Menmas accident not only ends her life but causes so much grief to her friends and family this is realism at its finest and it can very well happen in your own life too so for reasons such as this I love Anohana and its realistic messages that it portrays. Friendship can go sooo far words cant describe it there are other shows which also show how far friendship can go an example is KOn and the message in that show is equally as strong since I received it well which also resulted in me being overwhelmed with emotion. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/960186430435512370/unknown.png Anohana is a series that is such a beautiful gem and something I will hold dearly for as long as I live I gave this series the perfect score when I watched in two years ago and I still very much think this series deserves a spot as truly one of the best anime to ever be written. What makes it even grander is the fact Anohana is an original work of art not adapted from anything besides the writers mind and what an incredible story she wrote. I basically had the same experience with the movie as I did with the anime since its mostly a recap which still has the same emotion as I mentioned earlier. There is supposedly meant to be something happening regarding Anohana as a ten year anniversary in August which is also the month that the song Secret Base talks about there is a lyric that specifically says see you next year in August or something alike so this planned event is a HUGE nostalgia throwback and I am super hyped for what this event will bring to the table its more Anohana so its something I absolutely must get my hands on.
