SPOILERS BEWARE The KOn movie is a side story which happens right before the end of S2 and occurs around a week before graduation and adds quite a decent chunk to what makes KOn so special since all the talk about writing the final legendary song of the series was showcased here which emphasises how impactful and important Azusa is to them. The entire London trip is really wholesome but it has nothing on the conclusion to the movie or series since both basically conclude at the same time. The fact that the whole London trip is cut out of the season and adapted as a side movie yet it adds a whole another aspect to the conclusion of KOn it is still as beautiful tearjerky and wholesome as in the show and easily solidifies a permanent bond between our lovable girls. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/938873918243102800/unknown.png I genuinely dont think its possible to write a KOn review without mentioning the OST in this masterpiece this time the ED of the movie is another song by Afterschool Tea Time which I straight up must have ignored the first time round and didnt recall it at all when listening to it yesterday after finishing the movie and its another banger This time the song Singing is such a good ED song but thats to be expected since its sung by the amazing voices of my favorite girls. The OP isnt nothing to scuff at either but again its another song by the band so thats to be expected. Also UI was played in London That made me so happy since its my favorite song from the band and it was so epic to hear it in the movie once more. Again no need to praise OST from this show or Kyoto since we already know they create masterpieces. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/938874445689409626/unknown.png The reason why this movie hits on a more personal level than it may for others is because I live in London and some of the landmarks that are shown are spot on That really put a smile on my face since I see Aldgate underground tube station and smile since Ive been there myself same can be said for the London Eye which I also rode so saying I feel and see what the characters are doing and feeling is quite literal since Ive been to the exact same places. Also the way the English culture is showcased is so well done spot on and something I can relate to on a personal IRL level since Ive gone through the exact same situations in the past. Overall since a good chunk of the movie is based in London it hits really close to home which adds a super nostalgic factor for me besides the trip being based in London its your pretty standard MOE KOn and you already know how I feel about that from my other reviews on KOn. Then there is the perfect icing on the cake that is how the movie ends in a similar fashion to the anime and being able to experience those final moments really plays with my heartstrings and brings out real genuine emotions I love the girls I love the series and knowing the end of their school days together is upon them gives an incredibly bittersweet yet satisfying feeling its really unique and Im not sure how to describe it but once you experience it yourself you should be able to relate with me here. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/938875624808939520/unknown.png Overall the movie is a fantastic addition to the series and should definitely be watched after the anime since its basically set right before the end to the anime and I personally believe its best to let viewers experience the ending to KOn from the animes standpoint first before the movie. Then watching the movie just adds another reason as to why KOn is a masterpiece as a series it succeeds in the highest regard it what it sets out for itself. The series is about friendships and KOn teaches you how important friends are its another series that teaches me a life lesson and not the first show to do that from the magical Kyoto studio either. If you like MOE then KOn should be right up your alley to watch since its one of the best in the business from that genre. On a final note the rewatches really emphasised how much I truly love KOn since at the start I wasnt really that big of a fan of the MOE genre but it grew on me it grew on so damn much Now I cant imagine my life without knowing about KOn since it definitely deserves a special place in my heart as another Kyoto masterpiece.
