SPOILERS BEWARE The third season of MHA continues to live up to the expectations I have for this show this has now become such an enjoyable anime to the point even watching filler episodes like episode 20 is enjoyable I have reached the point with this series that I very much care for the characters so any new content featuring the cast really bring a smile to my face I am very happy to see them develop as humans and essentially heroes too. Some notable points from this season to mention so lets get started. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/951226229321760778/unknown.png Firstly Koda and his backstory was very touching Deku like the genuine good person he is wasnt going to let a villain kill innocent people and even less so Koda who he really wanted to understand his hatred for the superhuman society a quote from one of the pussycats one day you will find someone who will risk their life for you holds a lot of meaning here. Deku may have been breaking the rules by using his quirk to inflict physical damage on the villain but in those few minutes he became Kodas hero and that trumps everything. There is this debate of if you could only have one then would it be knowledge or instinct? I for one would always pick the latter as no matter how correct the procedure may be if it involves letting someone die at the cost of following specific rules then instinct kicks in here like it did with Deku since its common sense to do the right thing at this moment. He knew that Kodas life was the most important thing at the time disregarding any rules and simply being ready to face consequences afterwards. Dekus meddling was the essence of what makes a hero as All Might once said a quote on the lines of it is a heros duty to meddle when unnecessary. This encounter between Deku and Muscular was very fun to watch and the story telling in between was handled incredibly well then the finale we got to experience a One for all at 1000000 I definitely wont be forgetting this single quote since we went from 100 to 1000000 power instantly in that single moment heroes are always pushing their limits to overcome difficult situations and such was the case for Deku in order to save Koda which was very heartwarming. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/951228043270172692/unknown.png My next point to cover would be a battle that came sooner than I expected at least All Might vs All for One is certainly a huge influential moment in the story as this battle essentially retires All Might from his hero duties which means the symbol of peace has fallen which is what the League of Villains was after since they bounded together. There is quite a lot of storytelling going on throughout this fight as well but such is the case for many battles in this anime All Might vs Nomu or Deku vs Todoroki just to name two also had exceptional storytelling to go with their incredible battles. This battle is also the first time I believe that we see All Mights arms damaged to the point Dekus were when he first received this power and well its understandable since he was fighting the greatest evil as proclaimed by All Might himself earlier in the show. The League of Villains dont play a huge factor in this battle even letting Bakugo slip through their hands but their mastermind gets the job done at the cost of his imprisonment while simultaneously retiring All Might so it definitely wasnt for naught. As mentioned earlier this is the turning point of the story and even the episode itself is called end of the beginning beginning of the end so from this point onwards class 1A will only face harsher and harsher challenges in the reality that is the hero world. This episode certainly left an impact as now the whole world will have at the back of their minds that All Might is no longer around so not only will heroes have to try that much harder but so will the League of Villains. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/951229509435293736/unknown.png My next point to cover would be the discussion between Deku his mum and All Might regarding moving students to an onsite dorm which she was completely against at first this is a pretty emotional teacherparent talk where they let out their true feelings to each other. All Might makes it pretty clear to Dekus mum that he wants him to become his successor and the next symbol of peace but it is fully understandable from mums point of view as she worries to crazy lengths about her son firstly because he was quirkless for so long secondly because he had already sustained such severe injuries since inheriting All Mights power and lastly since most mums worry about their children as its a natural thing to do especially when you look at Deku who was a pretty innocent normal kid for essentially his whole life. There are some quite powerful promises exchanged here which led to mum finally letting Deku move in as well. While on topic of dorms there is one more point I would like to mention which would be Asui the late night confrontation between her Uraraka and the five that went to save Bakugo was pretty impactful her tearstained face really hit me here now I know I definitely hate seeing her sad in fact the more I see of Asui the more I start adoring her she is very quickly becoming my favorite female character of the show in my previous season review I highlighted her as being best girl from the class and this season is only solidifying that opinion of mine seeing that sad face really hurt and Im glad the five were quick to apologise and embrace her for hurting Asuis feelings this way although Im sure they didnt mean to. Sad Asui is something that breaks my heart and I cant bear to see anymore of that 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/670745625670713353/872586883484483654/unknown.png Back in S1 it was revealed that four students were admitted to UA by recommendations two of those were Todoroki and Momo and now a third one was revealed being Inasa Yoarashi the wind user seeing the control that he has over his quirk makes complete sense but he rejected his invitation since he despises Todoroki and his father the flashback to this doesnt happen till a bit later into the second part of the provisional license test that involves search and rescue while fighting villains. With this now I wonder who is the last one its probably not that relevant but since they mentioned that four were admitted yet only two actually went then the last student must have had a reason to decline as well unless theyve been in class 1B all along. This is something I will keep in mind while going into S4 and beyond. PS: Its now been enlightened to me that the last two are indeed students from class 1B but that doesnt become apparent till a later season. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/951231638510137404/unknown.png Last point that I want to mention that involves this provisional exam is the encounter between Shoji/Jiro/Asui/Momo and another school for the most part UA were beaten but keywords are for the most part since Momo didnt end up using her quirk in the way that her opponent thought she would which ended up being the gamechanger in the final moments Momo gets taken hostage but only for a few seconds as her friends are right there to help. Its a simple logic of prioritising friends over the exam which is what I love about this specific scene the shot of the trio coming back to Momo is simply badass to me and its another moment I very much enjoy from this anime. It is the friendship bond that has formed between the class over all the incidents theyve faced since starting at UA that warms my heart. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/670745625670713353/872616824049639494/unknown.png Lastly I want to talk about the episode titled Deku vs Kacchan part 2 it had been building over the course of this season but Bakugo genuinely felt uneasy about whether he was still stronger than Deku as of now and the answer to that still is yes I supposesince he beat Deku but that was Deku at only 8 of his power which is a terrifying prospect as there is still so much he can improve. Anyway this entire episode was dedicated to Deku and Bakugo allowing them to release all their pent up feelings towards each other which was satisfying now that All Might had retired it was healthiest to know exactly where they stand in the hero society as well as between themselves and since their relationship was already rock bottom it couldnt have been made worse. We clearly saw their inability to work with each other in S2 when they were taking on their practical exams but even two polar opposites were able to create a spark when it truly mattered. After this battle Deku and Bakugo were able to blow off a lot of steam which ultimately led to the secret that All Might had with Deku to became a secret the trio held and Bakugo is only the second student to learn about this yet he started suspecting it all the way back from S1 when Deku told him that he inherited his power from someone and that he would make this power his own one day. Bakugo may seem like an idiot but in reality he is very smart and on many occasions followed through plans that were laid out by his classmates and even Dekus which proves that he may be a lot of bark but he isnt a complete idiot. They broke the curfew but it was all for good reason and could this potentially be the point where they have now become rivals that will only better each other because there is absolutely nothing better than a rival to improve yourself and even more so if its a close childhood friend youve known for years as such is the case for Deku. All this time Deku still admired Bakugo and although there are parts he hates of him there are parts he admires so much. After this encounter I strongly believe that these two will now be able to have a healthier relationship between each other it may not be all rosy as it is for everyone else in the class but the rocky path will slowly become smoother and smoother. As All Might said in this episode from what I can recall Deku and Bakugo will become exemplary heroes one day which I strongly believe will become the case over the next two seasons and potentially more in the future. This was a very solid episode overall and one that even looked back at Bakugos past to some degree which we hadnt seen much of up to this point as I wrote in my previous reviews of this series I had hoped that class 1A characters would get more development and slowly over time this is occurring which makes me so happy. There is still so much more I want to know about everyone but that may come in due time as these kids will slowly but surely start becoming real heroes they will graduate from kids and become young adults. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/951234399947616296/unknown.png Overall My Hero Academia is a very enjoyable show to me its a show I can keep watching episodes of and enjoy it to the same consistency throughout then when special episodes happen is when the show peaks and the fact I feel so many feels throughout this series is also definitely an added bonus this rollercoaster of a journey that I have embarked on I am very much enjoying and I cant wait to see even more for now there are two more seasons for me to watch but there is potential for even more afterwards since there is still plenty of the source to adapt which I will eagerly await for.
