SPOILERS BEWARE So this is a movie or extended OVA it can be referred to as well which is a prequel to the first season of the show and this movie is a back story for Emilia it shows us how she met Puck and why they refer to each other as daughter and father. This is a nice addition and it does indeed answer some questions which we may have had regarding Emilia after watching the first season. The movie is just over an hour and honestly it blitzed past me and I dont remember all that much happening either not that that is a bad thing we do learn that Puck is overwhelmingly strong and I believe this was the first time we saw him in battle too and well he makes quick work of anything hes fought up to now so his power is truly something to behold near the end of the movie on the verge of death or so it seemed Puck signed a contract with Emilia perhaps to awaken his true power? There was never an answer to this and he also mentioned that someone who he signed a contract with earlier forbid him from signing a contract with Emilia but choosing between upholding his contract or losing Emilia he chose her as he did say that he loves her. I guess we learn about Emilias crystallization power which I dont recall if this was ever shown in the main and well she is pretty scary alright either due to her blood of being half elf and half something else the red spirit referred to her as half devil but we dont really get an answer as to what Emilias origin really is. What Puck says is completely true though that everyone regardless of what blood youre born with deserves to be happy and he wants her to be happy. But thats about it that I can pinpoint as the main things to take from this movie its just a backstory episode so its not a masterpiece but it is good and should be watched if youre a Re Zero fan as knowledge is power. There are still things that I would like to be answered in regard to Emilia for example why was she the only elf that unfroze in the entire forest although the answer to that could be simply because she has different blood than the other elves. So yes a good watch and something for Re Zero fans while we eagerly await season two. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/905174777428324352/unknown.png Lastly a brief note on the Memory Snow OVA If you prefer Emilia as the better girl then this may be for you. Im neutral on her stance but drunk Emilia is certainly best Emilia. As for Rem goes well Ive already said what needed to be said in my S1 review. Rem is PERFECT so a drunk side to her is simply a much welcomed bonus. The party scenes were definitely the highlight of this OVA for me seeing both girls being drunk while clinging to Subaru like children was adorable and truly a sight to behold.
