SPOILERS BEWARE When I finally got around to watching this anime last year after being nagged a plethora of times by one of my buddies I enjoyed it for the most part but the ending left me with a sour unsatisfied feeling as it practically concludes on a cliffhanger. Funnily enough a week later this movie got announced...which I still find the timing of this coincidence absolutely hilarious. The ending of the anime left me unsatisfied and puzzled what I wanted most from this sequel movie was a further exploration into Dorothys character which this movie delivered in a way. Generally speaking this is a pretty good movie which feels like the anime however there is an abundance of new characters that have not previously been introduced. 800https://i.ur.com/OQV9OzR.png Makoto gets a few cameos Abby can be heard talking on the phone Cynthias name is mentioned however her whereabouts are a mystery and last but certainly not least Laurent gets his cameo right at the beginning of the movie during a flashback as well as appearing before Dorothy in the final moment of the movie. https://i.ur.com/NaoJ8h1.mp4 This movie is very heavily focused on Dorothy which is great since she was a mysterious character from the way she was portrayed in the anime but even after finishing the movie her character is still a mystery with so many uncertainties of her origins. This movie reveals that Dorothy has amnesia which makes sense why she gets flashbacks when she sleeps as she thinks shes experiencing Dejavu when in reality those events had previously occurred but her severe case of amnesia is preventing her from remembering them vividly. This movie is four episodes length combined into a movie the first couple focus on introducing Dorothys new life as well as getting to know the cast of this movie which will be relevant in its finale while the latter couple focus on the climax of this case similarly how the anime handled it. https://i.ur.com/MCRWvFP.mp4 If theres one thing I forgot about this series is that everything is a con... Mr Wang is the main victim of the con in this movie as he wants to get revenge on Dorothy for being involved in her scam in the past but due to her newly revealed amnesia she doesnt remember her old self nor what she did in the past. As aforementioned when she sleeps she gets flashbacks of past events which occurred in the anime this however reveals a plot point which I would like explored further as Dorothy had a con life before she met Laurent but the specifics are still shrouded in mystery. 800https://i.ur.com/sIbmPfp.png In the climax of the movie Dorothy gets shot again but survives once more so what was the trick/illusion on this occasion? There was no blood when she laid on the floor so maybe it wasnt a real bullet? Was the whole movie a con to setup Mr Wang with Jay Dorothy and Yang being on board? I dont think there is too much credit in the last theory since Dorothy has a hazy memory so she could have easily forgotten about the whole plan which also leads me to another assumption she used to be a con artist before she got her amnesia so did something cause this or was it not that severe prior? Maybe when she was shot off the boat and fell into the water she hit her head hard or something but it still doesnt explain how she survived the shooting which seemed fatal. Ahhh still so many mysteries https://i.ur.com/fSBNSxl.mp4 Lastly the closure of the movie shows Laurent seeing Dorothy at the airport which I understand would be his first reunion with her since the fatal shooting on the boat but at the same time was the masterplan to con Mr Wang also orchestrated by Laurent because lets be honest here everything in this world seems to run through his fingers and Mr Wang clearly had a grudge against him for events that occurred in the past.
