CAUTION: REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. At first I was excited by this webtoon since it introduced an interesting twist on the now overdone isekai genre with two people being reborn into new bodies instead of just one person. The twins are Arjen and Arien who were also twins in their past lives. In their new lives as abandoned illegitimate royal children they can now telepathically communicate with each other although its not really explained if this is turned on all the time or they need to mentally focus or something to make it work. I suppose it is the latter as I will discuss below. However the story quickly starts to suffer since it focuses mainly on the girl twin Arien. Shes very very dull as a character. The twins are very passive characters who have zero motivations besides surviving the torment that they suffered at the hands of their abusive mother and negligent servants. Their lives change drastically when their mother dies and theyre reintroduced into the royal family. Its realistic that theyre wary of their new unfamiliar environment full of new faces unsure of who they can trust. But instead of using their newfound freedoms and being on the receiving end of endless adoration from their halfbrothers and royal father they stay cooped up in a room and rarely leave. A lot of the times either one of them passes out or they both pass out. It becomes very tiresome to read this because instead of focusing on how their new family members react to their poor physical and mental health it fades to black and starts again when the twins regain consciousness. I find it strange that the author decides to write this way when they have demonstrated scenes that the twins are not present for to show scheming and add mystery to the plot. If they want to only show scenes that the twins are present for thats fine but they should stick with it or not do this at all since the constant fainting and getting sick is not adding anything to the story not even tension. Basically its a waste of panels. The twins are very close and almost exclusively talk to each other with their minds until the fainting happens then Arjen starts shutting himself out and Arien is always wondering what her brother is thinking. It makes no sense why he would do that and it happens all too suddenly. Almost all the new chapters consist of Arien looking at Arjen wistfully and wondering what he is feeling etc. Thats when you know that the author has spectacularly failed in making this webtoon be a dual protagonisttype story since theres only one true protagonist and its Arien who is as interesting as a piece of brick. Arjen is only slightly more interesting simply due to the fact that hes being moody and uncommunicative but otherwise the twins have exactly the same personality and are indistinguishable. The main positive points of this webtoon are the various personalities of their family such as the second prince and the third prince who have wildly different approaches in protecting the twins. The emperor and the first prince are basically the same character and they even look the same demonstrating a complete lack of creativity on the authors part. The bits of lore about this world and insights on how the royal family is unique are interesting but theres not enough of this being discovered and built upon by the twins themselves. They show almost zero interest about learning and theyre not very bright. They constantly and incorrectly add up their current age and their past age to bring their mental age to being 20+ when thats not how mental intelligence is measured. Your mental intelligence is whatever the maximum capacity your brain can function at and being children again they cannot be smarter than what they used to be in their past life since you dont get smarter with each year that you live. You can only be as smart as you once were unless the isekai rules somehow make it so you do somehow get smarter when youre reborn. Anyway despite whatever mental age they think theyre at they act completely like children and think like children. Its one thing to be limited due to the physical strength or capabilities of a childs body but its another thing when you throw tantrums and such when you are misunderstanding the situation without even properly talking about it with the parties involved. In conclusion all the dumb plots that are being introduced and false tensions that are written in to extend run time can easily be solved with simple communication. The twins are mad at their father for abandoning them and pretending that they didnt exist but they never outright say this to him and hes so dumb he couldnt find himself out of a paper bag let alone rule a country to be honest. Each new chapter I read is another disappointment. Overall Breakdown: Characters: 2/10 Story: 1/10 Art: 5/10 Lore/Worldbuilding: 3/10 Enjoyment: 1/10
